About Certivu

Trust infrastructure for
the post-AI era

As AI-generated content becomes indistinguishable from human-made content at a glance, the question isn't "is this AI?" — it's "can you prove who made it, when, and with what system?" Certivu answers that question cryptographically.

Our mission

Certivu provides cryptographically verifiable provenance for AI-generated content, enabling platforms and media to label content with confidence — without claiming universal detection.

We believe the correct answer to the AI content problem isn't a black-box detector. It's an open, cryptographic chain of custody — signed at generation, embeddable in the artifact itself, verifiable by anyone, forever.

Signatures establish truth

ML-DSA cryptographic signatures are the source of truth. Watermarks are resilience, not proof.

No content stored

We store only hashes and records. Your content never touches our servers.

Verification is always free

Anyone can verify provenance — no account, no API key, no cost. Verification is a public good.

Honest positioning

We never claim to detect all AI content. Absence of provenance data does not imply human origin.

Why post-quantum?

Built to last decades

Classical signature algorithms (RSA, ECDSA) will be broken by sufficiently large quantum computers. NIST spent eight years evaluating post-quantum replacements, finalizing ML-DSA (Dilithium) as FIPS 204 in 2024.

Content signed today needs to remain verifiable in 2034 and beyond. We chose ML-DSA from day one — not as a future migration, but as the foundation.

We do not use RSA or ECC anywhere in Certivu's signing stack.

Signature algorithm ML-DSA (Dilithium)
Standard NIST FIPS 204
Content hash SHA-3 / SHAKE-256
Watermark DCT frequency-domain
Token format ctv_ base64url
Key exchange (planned) ML-KEM / FIPS 203

What we don't claim

Honest positioning is a core principle. These are things Certivu will never say.

"Certivu detects all AI content"

We verify signed provenance when present. Unsigned content can be anything.

"Watermarks are unremovable"

Watermarks are resilient, not tamper-proof. They survive typical transforms — not targeted removal.

"No provenance = human-made"

Absence of a Certivu record says nothing about the content's origin.

"Classical crypto is fine"

RSA and ECC are not used in our signing stack. ML-DSA only.
